Dumpsites are associated with various environmental hazards like groundwater contamination, soil contamination, fires, odour, breeding of disease-causing vectors etc. For healthy environment and wellbeing of a society, scientific closure of dumpsite is need of an hour. We at EMERGY have come up with a scientific approach for closure of dumpsite, which would convert filthy sites into small forest within the city. Closure is designed considering major aspects of scientific landfills viz. slope stabilization, leachate management, and gas management.
